Sherlocked

Me and my friend, Agatha, were hypothesizing about the end of series two of Sherlock! Here are our best ideas so far so we can laugh when we're super duper right in about another eighteen months time.

WELL, Where to begin?

-- How about the apple that Moriarty carved to say 'I O U' (I owe you)? That symbol kept popping right up, didn't it? Well, aside from the obvious sighting across the street from the police station, it also appeared across the street from 221B Baker Street. These suggested a threat towards Sherlock as well as a marker for the positioning of two assassins who are to kill Lestrade and Mrs. Hudson.

--We all have noticed the fairy tale connection early on in the episode. Later, Moriarty takes a bite from the aforementioned apple. This could be some sort of clue or visual representation the writers came up with to remind us that Sherlock uses a kind of poison (or drug) to fake his own death, not dissimilar to the plot of Snow White, which has her put into a state resembling death after taking a bite from an apple offered by the Queen in disguise. Also, more than once throughout the episode Moriarty finds it necessary to compare himself to Sherlock; this mirrors the Queen's obsession with Snow White's beauty, though instead of beauty it is an obsession with Sherlock's intellect. Moriarty considers Sherlock his only rival, and he must be the one to ruin him. Therefore, Moriarty is an evil queen.

--There has been speculation about how long, if at all, Sherlock has known about Moriarty and his plan to eliminate Sherlock through his suicide. Some say that it was during the course of the episode, some say longer, some say even shorter. But when Agatha and I were rewatching the second series, looking for any clues (yes, yes, we are awesome, hold the applause), and we noticed that in Belgravia when Sherlock is reading the newspaper the headline news was concerning the reconstruction of St. Bartholomew's Hospital. This is the same hospital that Sherlock jumps off of. Coincidence? I think not. He knew that months from reading that article that they would be well under way with construction. Construction equals garbage, and garbage equals a garbage truck. Sherlock suggests the Hospital to Moriarty as a meeting place for this reason. So the question remains, how long has Sherlock known (or at least suspected) that his demise was imminent? Probably longer than any of us could realize.

-- *Edit* forgot to mention some symbolism I noticed. When John is begging Sherlock not to be dead :'(, you can see an angel statue in the background that suspiciously appears above his grave. Considering that Sherlock and Moriarty talk about angels and Sherlock being on the side of the angels (though he says he isn't), it's fairly obvious what they were trying to prove with that. I just thought it was clever... and I usually don't notice symbolism so I had to share that one!

Other than above, pretty much everything else has been speculated over a million times, so go about and read your night away. In the end, we all just have to wait before any of us will have closure.

There are tissues by the door.

Retroactive Learning of Blogger

Hello everyone!

I've decided to do this backwards. I've made the blog and I'll learn what this whole blogging business is about after.

I reckon I ought to introduce myself. My name is Ren and I love both old and new films, though I am very finicky over which ones. My music collection is awesome, ranging from alternative to electronic. Mostly loving these new amazing groups! I love vintage clothing and shopping in used stores.
